Spring-Cleaning Around the House Made EasySteven
Three tips for simple and thorough cleaning around the house and in the garden
Sunshine, fresh greenery, flowering trees and hedges – it does the soul good when spring comes round with the first warm days of the year. Exactly the right time for spring-cleaning, not only within the four walls of your home, but also around the house and in the garden. There is plenty to do here after long weeks of cold, wet weather. Lots of dirt has gathered on paths and in parking spaces. Furniture and toys on the terrace and in the garden have to be cleaned before they can be used again on nicer days, unsightly green growth grows on the flower boxes and the bicycles in the shed should probably be cleaned since their last outing in autumn.
Such work does not take care of itself even today, but with the appropriate technology it is more comfortable and can be completed in a shorter time and generally also more thoroughly than with a brush, cloth and garden hose. Here are three tips on which new devices make cleaning around the house even faster this year. The spring-cleaning can start once you are suitably equipped.
Paths, patios and decking
The fastest way to clean larger outdoor areas such as paths, decking or parking spaces is with a pressure washer. The high water pressure also removes stubborn dirt, which is then rinsed away. With an additional surface cleaner, the work is done roughly twice as fast as with the single spray lance. It also provides a very uniform result and an effective splash guard. The T450 Kärcher patio cleaner is a handy attachment for your Kärcher pressure washer. Twin-jet rotating arms allow you to clean areas like patios and decking faster and with great results.
Garden furniture, toys, tools
Where up to now items were hosed down with the garden hose, the new WBS 3 cleaning spray gun improves the result – not only for spring-cleaning, but also for the quick intermediate cleaning during the summer months. Connected to the garden hose, the device generates an accurate point jet in the form of a spray gun, which makes possible very targeted cleaning. If the two-stage lever is pushed through fully, the cleaning spray gun changes to battery-operated mode, in which a rotating water stream is produced. This is perfect for cleaning smaller areas. Garden furniture, toys, plant containers and lots more can be cleaned of dust and dirt in a short time and without huge physical exertion.
Two 1.5 V AA batteries in the housing of the spray gun supply the energy required for the rotating water stream. Work can be completed for roughly one hour without any interruptions. The actual run time is much longer in practice, because generally only short blasts are sprayed.
Bicycles, dustbins, etc.
Bicycle dusty after spending winter in the garage? Garden furniture on the terrace covered for the winter months and not really inviting you to sit down and relax? And the dustbins should be rinsed out again too? A lightweight device is needed for such jobs and similar, generally lighter contamination. The alternative is a medium-pressure cleaner like the new KHB 6 Battery from Kärcher. The battery-operated device does not require a power connection and therefore boasts very flexible handling, the 18 V exchangeable battery is compatible with numerous other Kärcher devices. Because the device can also vacuum water from water butts or a well, a permanent water connection in the garden is not even required. The water pressure is maximum 24 bar – perfectly adequate for hosing down loose dirt quickly. To fit the medium-pressure cleaner, there is also a wash brush for the splash-free cleaning of surfaces, as well as a foam lance to be able to apply detergents and cleaning agents. The KHB 6 Battery is also compatible with other accessories such as the 5-in-1 multi-jet tube or the PS 20 power scrubber for area cleaning.
